9 Best Places to Eat in Savannah, Georgia

Discover the best spots in each category to grab a bite or a snack in Savannah, Georgia! From the best burgers to the best dessert!

After living in Savannah for a year, my husband and I found our favorite restaurants that we’d frequent on a regular basis. If your in Savannah for St. Patrick’s Day or any time of year, make sure to check these restaurants out! I promise they won’t disappoint! Here’s my list featuring the best Savannah has to offer, from a temporary local’s point of view.

Best Burgers goes to

B&D Burgers

B&D Burgers is absolutely, hands down, our favorite restaurant in Savannah. There are four locations. One in Pooler, one on the southside outskirts, one on Broughton Street and the most iconic at the City Market on Congress Street. The City Market location has a giant alligator hanging from the ceiling. They also have an outdoor seating area with a fire pit and live music. B&D Burgers has the best selection of burgers you will find anywhere! I myself have a difficult time finding a good turkey burger, but found the perfect one at B&D. Since leaving Savannah, I haven’t found it’s equal! We sure miss this place!

Best Atmosphere and Authenticity goes to

Kevin Barry’s Pub

I also mentioned Kevin Barry’s in my St. Patrick’s Day post.  Kevin Barry’s provides an authentic Irish Pub experience, with delicious Irish food and entertaining live music. They’ve actually won an award for being the most authentic Irish pub outside of Ireland!

Best Seafood on the River goes to

River House Seafood

We’ve tried several restaurants on the River Walk and hands down my favorite is River House. One of my favorite things to do is to enjoy their amazing Lobster and Crab Bisque with their melt in your mouth warm rolls on a rainy spring day. Enjoy your food with a view of the river.

Best Pub goes to

Moon River Brewing Company

Moon River has an excellent selection of beers with an authentic historic pub feel. The Brewery/Pub is located in one of the oldest and most haunted buildings in Savannah. The burgers and blackened chicken sandwich are delicious!

Best Romantic Night Out goes to

The Olde Pink House

With this beautiful historic building, eerie romantic atmosphere, ghost stories, live entertainment roaming the rooms and top notch chef created meals, The Olde Pink House is the perfect location for a special occasion. I highly recommend the Pork Chop, but every dish at this restaurant is amazing.  Also, make sure you try their signature southern cocktail, The Olde Pink Lady!

Best Candy in Savannah goes to

This one is a long running debate among locals and tourists alike, but my favorite is…

River Street Sweets

A trip to Savannah isn’t complete with a stop in one of these iconic candy shoppes! You can’t go wrong with Savannah’s Candy Kitchen or River Street Sweets, but I’ve always preferred River Street’s fudge and rice krispie treats. Head in for a free sample at both!

Best Dessert in Savannah Goes to

Lulu’s Chocolate Bar

Lulu’s Chocolate Bar, hands down, has the most delicious dessert you’ll find anywhere! It’s small, so you’ll definitely want reservations before heading here. Try a chocolate martini or a decadent dessert, I promise you won’t regret it.

Best Tybee Seafood goes to

Coco’s Sunset Grill

This amazing restaurant can be difficult to find, but is well worth it when you do! You take a right just before the “Welcome to Tybee Island” sign as your heading onto the island. Head all the way to the end and you’ll see Coco’s Sunset Grill on your right. It’s right next to the Dolphin tours launch and parking is in a gravel drive. You’ll enjoy amazingly fresh wild caught Georgia shrimp with a view of the river.

Best Local Spot on Tybee Island goes to

Huc-A-Poos

Huc-A-Poos is our absolute favorite place to eat after a day at the beach. Don’t let the awkward and slightly dilapidated looking building with it’s dollar bills and license plates all over the walls deter you, this place is amazing! Their specialty is pizza and they definitely do it right! They’re located in the Tybee Oaks shopping area, so when you’ve finished a slice or two or three, take a walk around the local shops. You can even rent a bike to enjoy around the island!

Tip: The slices are huge and are really like getting two or three depending on how you slice it! They bring it to you with a pizza cutter.
