Welcome to my Savvy Solutions! This is a time for me to share with you savvy ideas and products for your daily life.
So, I’ve been curious about The Honest Company for a while now. I’ve heard many things about their Bundles and how they save money. I’ve also heard good and bad things about their products.
I recently saw a YouTube review on their shampoo and conditioner. I’ve been looking for a new shampoo and conditioner for a long time now. I’ve always considered my hair one of my better features. It’s thick, but not poofy. I can go at least two days without washing it. It’s pretty wavy, which is natural, but curls and straightens easily. But, I’ve had some issues of late with my hair feeling more oily or just dirty quicker. I don’t know if it is an age thing, but I’ve tried every shampoo and conditioner. The cheaper ones strip it of everything so that it feels brittle and the more expensive kind for thicker hair, makes my hair feel oily. I’ve tried no conditioner, two in ones and pricey ones. I can’t tell you how many I’ve tried.
So, after seeing the YouTube review, I thought, it’s worth a try. They have a “free” trial for their Bundle. You do have to pay shipping though, $5.95. The items in the trial are also pre-set, so you can’t pick and choose which items you want to try out. This is the Essentials Bundle. They also have a Diaper Bundle, a Formula Bundle and a Health and Wellness Bundle. I don’t know much about their beauty products, but they just came out with Honest Beauty and there is a Beauty Trial and Bundle too.
Right now Honest Company is running a promotion where you can get 30% off, plus free shipping on your first Essentials Bundle! Use the link below to check it out! (This is an affiliate link, which means I receive a commission for purchases made through the link!)
These are the 5 items you get and my thoughts on each:
- The Multi-Surface Cleaner: Honestly, no pun intended, I wasn’t overly impressed with the cleaner. I didn’t notice that it cleaned any better than anything else I’ve used before. I’m also going on trust that the liquid inside is all natural as it states, but the trial size of this one doesn’t list the ingredients.
2. Shampoo and Body Wash: I really like the shampoo so far. I wasn’t sure at first when I was lathering up, but once rinsed, my hair felt lighter and cleaner. It also felt smoother and was easier to brush. I’m going to hold out my final verdict till after I try the conditioner.
3.Hand Soap: I did not like the hand soap. Even though the scent is supposed to be “lavender”, it really has a strong odor! I don’t know if it’s the combination of ingredients or if it’s just too fragrant, but it stunk and made me cringe when using it. It also left my hands feeling dry, which is definitely not something you want with hand soap.
4. Face + Body Lotion: I actually really like the Honest Lotion. It wasn’t heavy or thick and it absorbed really well. But, also left the skin feeling soft for hours. I also like that it is fragrance free.
5. Healing Balm: I also loved the Healing Balm! I’ve had an issue this year with dry hands. I have a couple of rougher spots on my hands from strong cold winds this past winter that are still red, rough and scabbed a little. After only one application of the Healing Balm, the redness and roughness was noticeably different the next day. I’ve been putting this on the rough spots just before applying the lotion on both hands. I also noticed that all the ingredients in the balm really were all natural, like flower and seed oils.
After they arrive, you have 7 days to decide if you want to do the Bundle service or not. After 7 days, they automatically charge you and ship you your first Bundle for $35.95 plus tax and shipping. So, total it comes to around $40.
I decided to go ahead and get the first Bundle shipment so that I can try out the conditioner. When I add up what I’ve been paying for shampoo and conditioner alone lately, it comes out as a good deal.
For this first Bundle, I decided to go with the shampoo, conditioner, lotion, healing balm and roll on sun screen.
I’ll do another review on the Bundle and come up with a price break down and comparison to see if the cost is worth it.
